I have always been the type of person that sets goals and the type of person that when I make up my mind to do something, do it to completion..
Let me start by telling you a little story.
I grew up in the country, a little community called Dixie. Now for anyone growing up in Charlotte North Carolina in the early 70s, Dixie was a little country Community Way outside the city limits of Charlotte North Carolina.
We’re talking about people that had cows, chickens, horses and all other kinds of farm animals.
they had their own farm land to grow crops and so on…
But most of our parents still had jobs in what I called the city. Plus we had to ride buses to school to the city, but in the afternoon we had to go back to the country, to the pigs, to the cows and all the other country stuff, but we were happy..
And now my stepfather had a job where he had to go all over the city to these water treatment plants, and I used to ride along sometimes but what always caught my attention was the big houses and beautiful neighborhoods… I’m not racist never have been never will, but I said when I was a kid, that oh this is how the rich white people live.
So one day while back in Dixie, while slopping the pigs, I told myself when I grow up I am going to get me one of those houses.. That was my first major goal that I remember setting.
Guess where I live now LOL..
I have been setting goals all my life, still do, even in retirement. I always have to be striving for something, Yeah I mean what is the purpose of living day-to-day when you have no sense of direction, or purpose, or a goal that you are shooting for?
Have I successfully completed all of my goals, no but I’m pretty sure I have at least 95% success rate .
But the success rate is important but what’s really important is I am always looking to make myself better than I was last year or the year before that.
And that’s what should be important to you… Setting Goals…
God Bless and good luck on your journey through li
